Some days, everyone needs their own personal assistant. These days, JanaCo Concierge Services can help — as much or as little as you’d like.

“We pride ourselves by saying we have a golden Rolodex,” says owner Jana Williams. “And we can take care of everything.”

JanaCo Concierge Services, with offices in the Fashion Island area, handles everything from helping book the perfect beach rental home to stocking it with baby gear, groceries, paddle boards and personal chefs.

They also have a membership service where, for $500 per month, you have access to unlimited concierge telephone service. Think never again having to book tables at restaurants, comparison shop for appliances or airline tickets or trying to find a reputable plumber.

“So many people love the concierge services at a fine hotel,” Williams says. “But they don’t think about getting that same level of service at home.”

Planning and making arrangements has always been in Williams’ DNA. Growing up in Riverside, she was in ASB in high school and planned every rally and party. Later, when she worked in the dental field, her patients began to depend on her for tips on where to get a haircut or which air conditioner repairman was best.

“What I do best is take care of people,” she says. “I’ve always been that way.”

For awhile, Williams stopped working when she had a son. But, she said, “I went bonkers.”

She began to dabble with small freelance jobs, then finally someone said, “You’re a concierge!” And a lightbulb went off.

“I kept thinking of myself as giving referrals, referrals, referrals,” she says. “But concierge — that was the right way to look at it.”

Williams attended a four-day concierge school in Chicago, and six years ago, launched JanaCo.

Clients can choose a monthly or weekly membership, but anyone can call with a one-time request that is billed at $75 per hour with a one-hour minimum.

Those rates cover JanaCo staff who might take your car for service, or wait for a repairman to arrive when you have to be three other places at once. Setting up vacation homes is a popular service, Williams said, as is procuring concert and sporting event tickets, planning parties and events and more.

One client called, desperately wanting to arrange for a peace offering gift for her husband who was visiting Newport Beach. JanaCo workers talked to the woman, then went to Whole Foods to select snack items that fit the man’s strict diet. They delivered the bask set to the man’s hotel — and it was a hit.

Another time, a client called in a panic. He and his wife finished their holiday shopping, but gifts were sitting there while the couple stressed bout their work schedules. JanaCo staff stopped by their home, picked up all the items, wrapped and labeled them and took them to the post office.

“They were going bonkers, and I said, ‘I’ll take care of it,’ and I did,” Williams said.
