Corona del Mar isn’t the hotbed of all things Irish, but we try to have a little fun every year on March 17.
Topiaries With Their Irish Bling
Not a lot of restaurants are marking St. Patrick’s Day with any kind of food or drink specials, but if you know where to look, you’ll find green beer, corned beef and more.
Green bagels are di rigeur among the elementary-school set, and for $8.59 per dozen, Brueggers Bagels will have you covered. Green bagels will be available all day Tuesday; they ask you give them an hour’s notice before you need to pick up your order.
For adults looking for daylong corned beef sandwich and green beer specials, head to The Place.
No green beer, but a more upscale special of corned beef, cabbage and root vegetables will be available at The Quiet Woman.
Coco’s also will have a corned beef and cabbage special ($9.99) and hot corned beef sandwich ($8.99) starting at 11 a.m. Beers will also be available for a special price of $1.99 — but they won’t be green.
And while it seems crazy to get your Irish on in a Mexican restaurant, El Ranchito plans to have its daily beer special be a special green bottle of Bud Lite; $3.75 for a 16 ounce bottle.
