In years past, Corona del Mar residents have been treated to a private July 4 fireworks show, with crowds gathering on Beach Three for the best views of the display set off from a barge offshore. But the private citizens who have put on the display in the past, including last year, have not applied for a permit — meaning locals are out of luck, city officials said Tuesday.
If you want fireworks, Newport Beach is co-sponsoring a Fireworks Extravaganza with the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort. The show begins at 9 p.m. Saturday, but parking at the resort at 1131 Back Bay Drive is $50 per car (which includes a lot of activities –check out the website for more information.) There will be a few private displays, as well as fireworks at Disneyland and after the game at Angels Stadium.
