Awesome job to the chairs of that event! Char, you are the best....

Harbor View Elementary’s third annual Jog-a-Thon raised $51,419.45 — more than enough to meet a principal’s challenge that left her doused with Gatorade at today’s Flag Deck awards ceremony.
“I’d get dunked any time for this school,” said Principal Charlene Metoyer. “But not again until next year, please.”
For the second year, Metoyer told students if their Jog-a-Thon event met the $40,000 goal, that she would allow herself to be soaked.
Students clapped and cheered as two dads dumped the orange drink (her favorite flavor) over her head.
“That was hilarious,” said fourth-grader Paris Paz. “I thought it would be a different color. I thought that was so funny.”
The school’s Jog-a-Thon was held Sept. 21, when students ran for 20 minutes, grade by grade, with sponsors pledging them per lap; click here to read our story.
At the Flag Deck awards ceremony, organizers honored students who ran the most laps and raised the most money. Grand prizes were two bicycles donated by Two Wheels One Planet.
Helen MacKinnon, a parent who co-chaired the event, said she was overwhelmed by the Jog-a-Thon’s success.
“It’s so amazing,” she said. “I can’t get over the generosity of this community.”
