CNN senior analyst and author Jeffrey Toobin will appear at the Central Library on Thursday Oct. 20.
Toobin, who wrote “The Nine: Inside the Secret World of the Supreme Court,” will appear as part of the Martin W. Witte Distinguished Speakers Lecture Series. Tickets cost $50; click here for more information.
The event begins with a wine reception and music at 6 p.m. followed by a lecture and Q&A at 7 p.m. A dessert reception and book signing will follow at 8:15 courtesy of Lido Village Books.
Toobin is known for his analysis on major events including the O.J. Simpson trial, the Kenneth Starr investigation and impeachment of President Bill Clinton and the disputed Florida recount of the 2000 presidential election.
“One of the closest watchers of the 2006 Martha Stewart trial, his accounts of the case for CNN and The New Yorker were among the most well-balanced and thorough,” according to a library statement.
His 2007 book, “The Nine,” examines the political and personal inner workings of the Supreme Court and its justices.
