The Etiquette of Going Ahead of Someone in Line

I just took two little girls to Chronic Tacos for lunch. They were wildly excited about all the choices and what should they get? Beans and rice, beans on the side, wait, one taco with guac?

That’s why when a man walked in, I presumed he was ordering lunch for one and asked if he wanted to go ahead. He did. Then he ordered NINE tacos! Al different. He took a fairly long time ordering.

Now, I could have not let him in front of me. That’s my fault, and really? Whatever.

But I think that he might have said something like, “I have a big order, are you sure?” And I would have said, “In that case, we will go ahead.”

I think that if you have a big order or something complicated, then you should decline someone’s offer to go ahead.
