Flavor Rush Truck Now Serving at Big Corona

Corona del Mar Beach has a new food vendor this week — the Flavor Rush Truck.

“We will be there for a good part of July and hopefully August,” said Chef Ted Rodriguez. “Come see us — our menu changes daily.”

Flavor Rush is the third food vendor to offer refreshments at the beach this spring and summer. Wahoo’s Fish Tacos and the Flip Truck were at the beach for several weekends, part of a plan by city officials to make sure beach visitors have refreshments despite the departure of Fuji Grill in November.

Rodriguez said that Wahoo’s is serving this weekend, but the Flavor Rush Truck should be at the beach seven days a week starting Monday.

City officials plan to seek applications for a permanent beach concessionaire this fall.

The Fuji Grill owner removed cooking equipment he had purchased for the stand, so vendors this summer will operate from catering trucks.
