A vandal caused $2,000 in damage to a motor vehicle at Fourth and Heliotrope avenues over the weekend, according to a police report.
The incident occurred between 8 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Monday, the report states.
Police also took a report of a petty theft at 401 Newport Center Drive with a loss of $127. The theft occurred between 4:15 p.m. May 12 and 3:45 p.m. May 25.
Police arrested a 33-year-old Costa Mesa man at 1:20 a.m. Saturday at Narcissus Avenue and East Coast Highway, on suspicion of narcotics possession; his bail was set at $20,000. Officers also arrested a 20-year-old Newport Beach man at 12:30 a.m. Friday on suspicion of DUI at Sandcastle and Seacrest drives; his bail was set at $2,500.
Police also made an arrest at 12:22 a.m. today after a traffic stop at Harbor View Drive and Goldenrod Avenue, online logs state. No other information was immediately available.
