A woman preparing to pump gas at the Corona del Mar 76 station was accosted by a woman who tried to take her credit card, police said today.

The incident occurred Monday after the victim pulled into the station at 2201 East Coast Highway.

“As she was getting ready to put her credit card into the machine for gas, the defendant approached the victim and asked if she wanted her windows cleaned,” Sgt. Steve Burdette said in an email. The victim said no and continued to try to pay for gasoline.

The victim was not injured in the attack, Burdette said.
