NJB 5th Grade Boys Win; Headed to Vegas Tourney

The Newport Mesa NJB 5th Grade Boy’s All-Star basketball team won the Southern California NJB Sectional Tournament last weekend and now moves on to play in the NJB National Tournament next weekend in Las Vegas.

Newport Mesa advanced by beating Los Alamitos 41-23, Scripps Ranch 38-34 in overtime and Irvine 65-56. Players on the Newport Mesa Team are: Dan Bailey, Jack Bendetti, Ryan Binford, Ethan Kim, Clyde Moore, Cole Pender, Jack Pitchess, Alex Rosen, Zack Swies, Henry Wilde and Harley Zeiper. The team is coached by Peter Pitchess and Charlie Wilde.
