From the Police Log: Commercial Burglaries, Thefts, Disorderly Conduct Arrests

Two burglaries were reported late last week — one at Trader Joe’s and the other at 106 Newport Center Drive, according to police reports.

The Trader Joe’s burglary was reported at 9:57 a.m. Thursday at the store at 8086 East Coast Highway, but no loss was reported. The other incident occurred between 5 and 10 p.m. Thursday and resulted in a loss of $365, according to a report.

A vehicle burglary was reported at 901 Newport Center Drive on Sunday. The loss was $1,830 with $500 in damage, and the incident occurred between 10:20 a.m. and 3 p.m., a report states. Petty thefts were reported Saturday in the 1000 block of Avocado Avenue and in the 22700 block of Pelican Hill Road South, reports state. The Avocado loss was $800, and the other was $250, reports state.

Police arrested a 26-year-old Newport Beach man at 1 a.m. Sunday at Dahlia Avenue and East Coast Highway on suspicion of disorderly conduct while intoxicated; his bail was set at $500, reports state. And a 22-year-old Santa Ana man was arrested at 10:20 p.m. Sunday at East Coast Highway and Heliotrope Avenue on suspicion of grand theft; his bail was set at $20,000.

Police also arrested a 35-year-old Aliso Viejo man at 11:10 p.m. Sunday at East Coast Highway and Newport Coast Drive on suspicion of DUI; his bail was set at $2,500.
