A Pomeranian dog that disappeared from a boat between the Newport Beach Harbor entrance and Emerald Bay on Sunday has been found.

The dog was discovered missing from the boat about 3 p.m. Sunday.

A man found the dog and has spent this week trying to track down the owners, said Sgt. Steven McCormick of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Harbor Patrol.

A call to the man who found the dog seeking more information was not immediately returned.

The incident was the third missing dog case that had a happy ending in the past two weeks. On Saturday, a Corona del Mar resident found a dog near Baja Fresh and later returned the dog to its owners. And on Jan. 18, a missing Maltese named Marshall was returned to his owner, a Corona del Mar High School teacher; read our story here.
