If you live for soccer but think of it as football, if you’ve made it a point to understand the maze that is the English Football League, if you actually can name more stars than David Beckham– take note.
For the first time ever, AYSO 57 will hold three summer camps, featuring international coaches from the United Kingdom, said Dave Brown, regional director for AYSO Soccer Camps.
“We bring over talented UK coaches, through UK International Soccer Camps, to conduct the programs and coaches stay with local families for their duration of their time here,” Brown said. “It’s a great cultural exchange program as well as an opportunity for players to be guided through developmentally appropriate coaching activities from unique coaches.”
UK International is the only organization whose coaches, primarily from Great Britain, are AYSO Safe Haven Certified and trained in AYSO philosophies, Brown said. AYSO teamed up with camp trainers throughout the country to create its camp curriculum, which was reviewed and approved by AYSO National Coach John Ouellette.
Camp sessions will focus on individual ball skills so players can express themselves and become confident and creative on the field, Brown said.

AYSO also will offer an Advanced Training Camp for more skilled players. Read about that camp here.
Brown added that families are needed to host UK soccer coaches. “The similarities and differences of our language, combined with the love of soccer ensures a memorable week and long lasting friendships for everyone,” he said. Find more information about hosting a coach here.
So far, 80 kids have signed up for the camps, Brown said.
