Nearly two weeks have passed since federal agents swarmed Corona del Mar to investigate the Phoenician Stone shop on East Coast Highway — but investigators said “nothing new” has developed, and the shop’s owners have not returned phone calls seeking comment or asking about whether the shop is open for business.
On Aug. 3, investigators with Immigration and Customs Enforcement spent hours at the shop, taking over part of a neighboring tire business parking lot, using saws, forklifts and crates. At the time, investigators said the agents were serving a search warrant but declined to elaborate because the investigation is ongoing.
Lori K. Haley, an agency spokeswoman, said last week that there is “nothing new” to report on the case.
