I see DOG people do this all th time. I am not a dog owner and hav seen those poop filled bags in our trash as well. I think rude move . Why else would your neighbor look around to see if any body see s her. Poop bags do have ODOR . Tote your dogs poop home to your own can!!!!!!!!! I say

Seriously? You're annoyed someone put their trash in your trash can? You need to 1)look up 2) notice there is a big, beautiful world out there 3) put this in perspective. People in Pakistan are dying and you live here. Help others, it will make you feel good, put a trash can out there ESPECIALLY for dog owners. Sheesh.

I don't think this is small stuff. Your neighbor doesn't have a right to make you responsible for 'her' poop. If it was such an inoffensive material, she would have continued to carry it with her until she reached her own home and her own trash can. I wish you had said something to her. I would want her to know that I don't appreciate her treating my property as a convenient toilet.

How can you compare Pakistan to this poop issue? WOW! This is a beautiful world lets keep it looking and smelling that way. So you go for the can for all dogs I m sitting out of that one.P U . I will do many other nice thing for others and i feel great about that!!!!!!!

You can't equate the situation in Pakistan with a legitimate and harmless rant against a neighbor's inconsideration. You simply can't. What a small-minded response to healthy venting.

I think it's so funny that people so often tell me not to sweat the small stuff. Most of what I rant and rave about is the small stuff. Like how bummed I am when I buy Trader Joe's laundry soap and it reeks of lavender. I don't like lavender. But now I'm afraid to rant about that. Just kidding.

Go check out the law. You put the can on the curb and give away everything inside. It's not your's anymore! I would bet that if the party put the poop in the can BEFORE the garbage man gets there, you would not have a problem. If the party puts the poo in AFTER the garbage man passes, then just take your cans in! In fact you should be happy people are NOT littering in your neighborhood! Personally, I hate it when someone leaves their cans out... sometimes for days (there's a law about that too). Those people are far more obnoxious than people who actually pick up after their pet. So if you don't like poo in a bag in your can... take your cans in. Pretty simple, huh?

I say, bad neighbor if the can was empty. Weird neighbor for not walking across to her own can. Happy either way that the "poo" was not left for someone else to pick up. I know a man whose neighbor kept leaving his dogs doo on his lawn. After picking it every day for for about a week, he put it in the dog owner's mailbox. While I'm not recommending illegal activity, there was no more incidents of doo on his lawn.

Amy, I've been guilty of tossing my dog's poo in other people's trash cans. I figure, my dog's poo is so tiny, and it's in a plastic bag that's tied off, what's the harm? There's so many dog owners that DON'T pick up after their dog, I think you should rant on them and not worry about this lady. As long as she's tying off her bags!

i agree, at least she picked up the poo - as far as comparing the neighborhood poo dropper to other worldly issues - it's good to put things into perspective but i enjoy reading about simple rants like this, we are all grateful for cdm and the lifestyle we have, poo is a healthy amusing rant, good topic for reading and conversation - otherwise there wouldn't be so many poo comments on this article - thanks amy! next time take a photo of the culprit and call the poolice :)

Is this really all you have to talk about? I'm sure your trash was full and about to be picked up, because why would you have left your cans out...? Perhaps you should lock up your trash. I'm sure the doggy doodle was better smelling than your week old trash!! This whole topic is just dog petty!!

Got to love this topic Amy. This is the small stuff, but as a not-so-eager dog owner, I have to say I have been in this situation and it stinks more than the dog poo. Here I am a dog owner..never wanted to be a dog owner but the husband and kids cried for one..Ok now I'm a dog owner..I have to walk the dog when everyone is at work or school. Ok the dog needs exercise too so I find myself sometime walking far from home - and this is when she decides to poo! So now the FOOD CHAIN flips and I have to actually pick up this dog SH** and carry it for a mile in this ridiculous neon colored freshly scented bag all the way back to my own trash can! I look utterly ridiculous walking the area carrying dog SH**! Do you know how it feels to actually carry dog SH**! It borders on degrading! I am so happy when I see a trash can nearby..I am so grateful because I feel as if this unknown fellow CDM neighbor has helped me out of this embarrassing situation! Why can't people see it that way? Why else would someone who is carrying dog sh**use your trash can? Sometime you just have to put yourself in the other person's shoes. P.S. when the poo is put in this bag and sealed it does not smell. Your neighbor just did a most degrading thing to help keep CDM beautiful!
