A man interrupted two suspects taking property from his vehicle Sunday evening in the 400 block of Jasmine Avenue, chasing them to a getaway car that police later stopped.

Three of five people in the car were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit vehicle burglary, said Lt. Bill Hartford.

The incident occurred at 6:11 p.m., according to online logs.

“The victim chased the suspects, who entered a Ford Explorer with a Utah license plate and fled the scene,” Hartford said.

Several witnesses said at least four police cars drove through Corona del Mar, toward the scene, with lights and sirens. Officers ultimately found the car and detained five people, arresting three of them, including a 29-year-old man from Montebello, a 26-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, both from Chino.
