Library to Host Author Visit Tonight

An Orange County author who has written a novel about a female photographer covering the Vietnam War will speak at a free event tonight at the Newport Beach Library.

Tatjana Soli will give a lecture about her debut novel, “The Lotus Eaters,” as part of the Newport Beach Library Foundation’s Library Live program. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with a lecture at 7 p.m. and a book signing at 8 p.m. The event is first-come, first served and is free with a suggested $10 donation at the door.

Soli is a novelist and short-story writer whose stories have appeared in numerous literary publications. Her work has been twice listed in the 100 Distinguished Stories in Best American Short Stories, and she has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize. She was awarded the Pirate’s Alley Faulkner Prize and the Dana Award and was a finalist for the Bellwether Prize. She teaches through the Gotham Writers’ Workshop.
