This morning, both sides of Goldenrod Avenue near Harbor View Elementary School were marked with “No Parking” signs. So no one could park in the 900 block from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Workers were using really noisy equipment to hammer at the pavement — just feet away from the kindergarten playground.
It was one of those tempest in a teapot situations, where it didn’t seem to create all that much chaos. By noon, the workers were gone (although the signs remained) and it was quiet. There aren’t a ton of school events today, so parking wasn’t that much of a problem. And if it really is a one-day thing, well OK.
But nonetheless, doesn’t it seem weird that they would shut down the street by school just a few weeks before school is out for the summer? If they waited, only a handful of people would have noticed.
