A new shop called Amighini Architectural has announced via signs in the window that it will open soon in the old B.B. Simon space at 3429 East Coast Highway.
“Amighini Architectural…is a family business dedicated to providing rare structural and decorative pieces reclaimed from historic residences, palaces, parks, hotels and other buildings all over the world,” according to the company’s website. “We offer these timeless materials to those seeking authentic architectural pieces.”
B.B. Simon — famous for a glittering crystal-studded grand piano in its showroom window — closed in February, less than a year after its grand opening. (Read our stories here and here.)
Corona del Mar has seen a rash of businesses closing, prompting local leaders to ask residents what kinds of businesses they wished would open in town. They answered they wanted speciality food shops, along with bookstores, candy stores and more. (Read our story here.)
Signs were placed this week in the window of the new shop, announcing it would open soon. We will update as more information becomes available.
