The Newport Beach City Council will meet today, discussing among many issues two that pertain to Corona del Mar.
One issue is whether Farmers Markets, including the one held on Saturdays at Marguerite Avenue and Bayside Drive, should be exempt from the city’s special permitting process. Read the staff report here.
The other issue takes a look at the kinds of trees that should be planted along Heliotrope Avenue. Storms, bugs and disease have left many blocks of Heliotrope Avenue without their Japanese Black Pine trees, and the City Council will consider whether to replace them with new tree options, including Kenita Palms, Hong Kong Orchids, or the New Zealand Christmas tree.
