From the Police Log: Thefts from Cars, DUI, Damage From Branch

A thief stole $105 from Corona del Mar woman’s car earlier this week, according to a police report.

The 54-year-old woman told police that someone took the money from her 1998 Toyota 4Runner parked in her driveway in the 1800 block of Sabrina Terrace. The theft occurred sometime between 7 p.m. Monday and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, the report said.

A suspect also took a wallet and cell phone from a 2000 Lexus parked in the 400 block of Newport Center Drive sometime between 5 p.m. Sunday and 3 p.m. Monday; the loss was $350, according to a report.

Police also arrested a 43-year-old Newport Coast woman on suspicion of DUI at Big Canyon and Santa Rosa drives at 2:15 p.m. Monday; her bail was set at $50,000. And a tree branch fell onto a car near Iris Avenue at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, but no damage estimate was available.
