El Ranchito employees were busy this morning, adding colorful cushions to an outdoor bench and preparing to open its new location at 11 a.m. today. The restaurant is located at 2315 East Coast Highway.
The restaurant replaces Oysters, which closed in February. (Read our earlier stories here and here.) The former El Ranchito space has been sold to Mark and Cindy Holechek, longtime restaurateurs who once owned The Bungalow in Corona del Mar, along with Woody’s Wharf and more recently The Cabana in Laguna Beach. The Holecheks said they plan to open a family-friendly restaurant called The Summer House in the old El Ranchito space at 2744 East Coast Highway; read our story here. Currently, there is a sign at that location telling customers that El Ranchito has moved and the old location is closed.
The new El Ranchito space no longer has the Oysters sign; employees said it was sold to a neighboring business.
